ONLINE PERMIT CENTER

Welcome to the City of Mukilteo Online Permit Center. All aspects of the permit process can now be completed online! 

 

  • The general public can see permit statuses, inspection requests, and reference materials.
  • Registered users can apply for permits and request inspections online.

 

Notice:

The 2021 State Building Codes became effective on March 15, 2024. All new permit applications submitted on or after this date shall comply with those codes.

The 2024 Stormwater Management Manual for Western Washington (Drainage Manual) became effective on July 1, 2024. All new permit applications submitted on or after this date shall comply with those codes.

The Western Washington Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit will be effective on August 1, 2024. All new permit applications submitted on or after this date shall comply with those codes.

HOW TO GET STARTED:

To begin the permit process, create a profile by clicking the “Sign Up” button and follow the instructions. Please refer to the Permit Portal Help website to view step-by-step instructions to navigate the online portal. 

Prior to submitting your permit, check out our document page to ensure you have all the required components of your project. Any incomplete applications will be valid for 21 days for editing.

Note: The online dashboard can be translated into your preferred language. View the "Select Language" drop down to translate the dashboard into the language of your choice.


 

 

OUR TIMELINES:

Plumbing, mechanical and residential re-roofing permits are generally issued within a week. We try to review other new permit applications within six weeks and all resubmittals within four weeks. If you have been waiting longer than our standard review time, please email permitcenter@mukilteowa.gov and we will check on the status of your permit.

  • Permits are reviewed in order received.
  • Permits are not valid until approved, paid for and issued. 

 

 

INSPECTION REQUEST SCHEDULING:

All inspections are scheduled through the online portal. Please note the cutoff time for next day inspection requests is 3:00 p.m. 

Most inspections are conducted between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.


 

 

BUSINESS LICENSING:

City of Mukilteo business licenses are handled through the Washington State Department of Revenue. Specialty licenses have additional requirements and are issued through the City of Mukilteo. https://mukilteowa.gov/205/Business-Licenses


 

 

SPECIAL EVENT PERMITS:

The City of Mukilteo understands the importance of community events, festivals and celebrations in building a sense of community and making Mukilteo a great place to live, work and play. That’s why we want to make it easier for you to host events in our community by providing support with the permit process. To get started you can download the Special Event Permit here: https://mukilteowa.gov/341/Special-Events-Permits or you may visit Rosehill Community Center in person.

Monday - Thursday: 8 A.M. – 5 P.M.

Closed for Lunch from 12 pm – 1 pm


NOTE: Online registration requires an access code to link your permits to your portal account. If you were not given an access code at the time of permit submittal, please contact our office to obtain one.
